Writing at Netherbrook Subject Leader: Mrs L Frost
At Netherbrook, we know competent and enthusiastic speakers, listeners and readers become inspired and imaginative writers. Throughout our English curriculum, we provide opportunities for our children to develop their oracy skills; encouraging them to elaborate and explain clearly their understanding and ideas. We create opportunities for our children to appreciate and develop a love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment. This helps our children acquire a wide vocabulary, an understanding of grammar and a knowledge of linguistic conventions for reading, writing and spoken language.
We strive for high standards of literacy, so our pupils are equipped with a strong command of the written and spoken word. We want our pupils to be able to express themselves confidently, competently and clearly across the whole curriculum, equipping them for their life beyond Netherbook.
